About the project

About the project

The goal of this project was to design an MVP mobile banking app with a clean interface, essential functionality, and a strong focus on everyday usability. The product was designed not only to help users manage transactions, but also to make financial information easier to understand and daily banking interactions more comfortable and less overwhelming.

My Role

My Role

As part of a UX/UI design training program supervised by experienced mentors, I worked on the project following a full product design process. My responsibilities included research, competitor analysis, user flow creation, wireframing, interface design, design system development, prototyping, and preparation of layouts for handoff.

  1. Eliminate overload: Most banking interfaces try to show everything at once. My approach gives each function its own place nothing extra, only the essentials;

Workflow

Workflow

Every project has its own specifics, but I followed a universal plan to successfully reach the desired result step by step.

Briefing and Technical Specification

I completed the brief and developed the technical specification after analyzing the available project information. The more detailed and well-prepared the specification, the better the outcome.

Competitor Analysis and App Structure Development

You don’t always need to reinvent the wheel. Good solutions already exist – they just need to be found. I also outlined the structure to better understand the problems, goals, and potential solutions.

Reference Gathering and Guide Study

Familiarizing myself with technical constraints and selecting ideas. Here, I defined the general direction and style.

Functional Prototype

Transforming text and ideas into a simplified structure. The prototype provided a realistic sense of how the concepts would work functionally.

Visual Concept and Design Detailing

From rough ideas to final layouts – turning concepts into visual images. This is where ideas begin to take shape and become reality.

Finalizing Layouts

Bringing layouts to a workable state. Creating a dark mode and developing the project’s design system.

Prototyping

“Bringing static designs to life” to demonstrate how different design elements function and to enhance the impression of the work done.

Testing

Checking the prototype and design with real users. Calibrating the design in case of uncertainties or issues. Gathering feedback.

Handoff to Developers

Organizing and preparing the project for handoff. A neat, well-documented project ensures the best possible implementation outcome.

Analytics and UX Process

Analytics and UX Process

The project included several analytical stages: audience research, persona creation, competitor analysis, CJM development, user flow mapping, and defining user needs using the JTBD framework. Based on this research, the information architecture and overall app structure were created.

Wireframes and Prototyping

Wireframes and Prototyping

After completing the analytical phase, I designed the app structure and created wireframe-based prototypes. During this process, several usability issues were identified and improved before moving to the final visual stage.

Visual Design

Visual Design

The visual direction focused on minimalism, readability, and clean composition. I developed the color palette, typography system, UI components, and the overall visual language of the app. Special attention was paid to spacing, hierarchy, and reducing unnecessary visual complexity.

After completing the main layouts, I prepared an interactive prototype for testing. Users went through key scenarios and provided feedback on navigation, clarity, and usability. Based on the results, several interface improvements and adjustments were made.

Handoff and Adaptation

Handoff and Adaptation

At the final stage, I organized the design system, prepared layouts for developer handoff, added interface comments, and adapted several screens for Android guidelines to demonstrate cross-platform consistency.

Final Result

Final Result

The final concept resulted in a clean, structured, and user-friendly banking app focused on simplicity and accessibility. The redesign approach helped reduce visual noise, improve navigation clarity, and create a more modern and comfortable user experience while maintaining a recognizable visual identity.

Project Outcome

Project Outcome

My Approach

This project became an important example of my product-oriented approach to UX/UI design. It demonstrates my ability to work with research, structure complex interfaces, build design systems, and think about both business and user needs within a large-scale digital product.

My Approach

I documented the results in a case study published on Behance, where you can explore my design in detail.

Working on this project under the guidance of experienced professionals helped me learn a lot. I hope to work on similar projects in the future.
